Yesterday, 5JT used their science and DT skills to build “shaky hand testers” like the ones you might find at a fairground stall. They had to build an electrical circuit so that a buzzer would sound if the shaky hand tester touched a metal wire at any point. Here’s two of the girls to explain what they did:
It was great to see how the children chose what direction they wanted to take their learning: for example, some decided to incorporate light bulbs in the circuit, and designed housings for them in their boxes; others realized that when the buzzer was inside the box it was quite muffled, so they made their own speaker grilles to let the sound escape. Well done 5JT!
