Yesterday, 5JT ran their own business in the classroom, selling badges to the rest of the school to raise money for our trip to London next term!
Customers could choose whether to use one of the badge designs we had prepared, or create their own badge for themselves. They then gave their designs to our expert badge-making department who turned them into quality products.
I was so proud of the independence and initiative of the whole class – no-one needed to be told what to do or to be organised by me into different teams; everyone decided what needed to be done for themselves, and worked together brilliantly to make the business run smoothly.
Throughout the day, the class were constantly thinking about how to improve the business so that it was more effective… How could the layout of the room be improved? What would make customers want to spend their money? How could we organise ourselves so that the design, production and sales of badges were as efficient as possible?
The accounts department have not finished calculating the profit yet, but it looks like well over £100 was raised to go towards our London Eye visit. Well done 5JT – YOU’RE HIRED!
